DeathMerchant has invented a forum-hosted role-playing game, "East Indies". This game has daily 'turns', so it should not take up much of your time.

This game is under development, so we invite all exploration-loving VOC'ers to join the first round.

Board updates

After a rather long time of lacking maintenance, I just updated the board software version to the latest version. We were still using the version of 17 November 2009. I expected a lot of trouble, but it was relatively painless.

Dice

This endeavour was caused by the request to implement a 'dice rolling' forum mod, which needed features from the newer versions.

The dice-mod has been installed, but only works on set forums (e.g., the Gaming forum and the SPAM forum). I can configure other forums too, but this has to be done manually. The syntax for rolling dice is, for example:

which rolls three 6-sided dice.

WYSIWYG

Alas, our fancy text editor is no longer. It broke with the latest version and the creator has long vanished from this Earth, so I had to uninstall it. Perhaps this also solves the issue of 'not enough characters in post' that some of us encountered.

EDIT: clean-up

Also, I have merged little-used forums and moved forums to the Archives, such as the City Empires forums etc. A little clean-up certainly doesn't hurt for our new friends.
